WHO WE ARE

At Make A Mark International, we are committed to discipling men and women to grow in their relationship with Christ. It’s our hope that through this ministry, we would raise up a new generation of biblical thinkers who can glean truth directly from the Scriptures and apply it to their lives. Through the use of inductive bible study, we teach participants how to study the Bible on their own, resulting in a transformed mind. Our hope is that this transformation will not only change their lives but develop them into effective Christ Followers and Leaders, who would then Make A Mark in the world.

Myron & Bernadette Ashby

While attending school, Myron and Bernadette Ashby, were first introduced to discipleship through a college ministry at San Jose State University. They were very fortunate to have mentors who understood the lifestyle of leading others to follow Christ. This began to form their thinking and would set the stage for the importance of Jesus’ model of relating to and developing leaders (discipleship).

They started attending a local church in Milpitas, CA. It was here, they were first introduced, by their pastor, to how to study the bible inductively. The Scriptures became alive and Jesus became very real as they learned to apply the discipleship principles to their everyday life. This kind of bible study began to transform their minds as Romans 12:2 states. They quickly realized that this kind of study would be the key to unlocking the Bible to anyone who truly wanted change and had a desire to follow Christ.

Meet Our Founders

God still had preparation ahead for them. They attended Trinity Internatiional University (TEDS) in Chicago, IL. At the completion of Myron’s MDiv and Bernadette’s MAR, they returned to San Jose and went into lay ministry to recover from marital issues that arose while at Trinity. This decision proved to be very healing. Myron trained to be a financial planner and Bernadette worked part-time as an entrepreneur music educator. They also homeschooled their three kids. As each of their kids went away to college, God began to draw Myron and Bernadette back to their previous vision of raising up a new generation of literate biblical thinkers who would impact the world.

As they look at the current world circumstances, more than ever, they are convinced that the way to capture the hearts and minds of this culture for good is to help individuals return back to the God of the bible. Their conviction and passion of helping others experience Christ through the Scriptures, is still their calling. This system to help others glean bible truths on their own, led them to begin the ministry of Make A Mark International.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Thank you for supporting the ministry of Make a Mark International.
